this was also a problem i had when i used the Sword with my 4S. another reason why i avoid Sword bumpers :(

I used to have this issue with my 4S when I was using aluminium bumpers, regardless of brand. I got around it by pasting a carbon fibre side sticker to prevent direct contact with the bumpers. I wasn't expecting a similar issue with the 5s as I thought they'd made changes to the antennae design.

On M1 and I don't seem to have this issue. Reception as good as when I was using PSAJ.

Hmm... Is your LTE turned on? I turned mine off, not sure if that makes a big difference. I certainly hope it's not a hardware issue cos I've got the Glas.tR slim and carbon fibre back from icarbons on it and I'm not too enthusiastic about having to do an exchange.

I am always on LTE, but so far no difference.

DAMAGE?!!?! :eek::eek:

:o U go see the vertu thread.

This one the price still okay. It was launched in sg on Oct 23rd this year, so its the latest offering from Vertu in the market. The android platform is smooth w/o touchwiz. I miss iOS AppStore already. PlayStore really really very lok kok.

Years back I read that the basic stainless steel Vertu is $8k...and not even a smartphone.

Ok back to the iPhone cases! ;)

is a case really needed, because i prefer to use my iphone naked, been using my 4S without a case for the past two years, never dropped it so the condition was pristine.. however concerned about the chamfered sides of the 5s and its silver aluminium.. not sure if these could stand normal day-to-day usage as well as sweaty fingers... thus i got a pouch to keep my phone when put in pocket...

any advise?

iPhone 4 and 4s if use w/o casing is okay. The steel band is so much more durable and scratch resistant than the aluminum band of the 5/5s.

But if you're talking about you using a pouch to put ur phone inside the pocket, perhaps to prevent scratches, it's good too. Some fine sand particles may reside in our pocket w/o us knowing.

Be careful not to walk too close to hard objects since ur phone is w/o case. I cite an incident. I was using my 1st set of iPhone 5 naked last year. I misjudged, stand too close when I close the cardoor for my daughter. Door edge knocked into my berms pocket. There was a dent at the bottom alu band.

Thereafter, my 2nd set of iPhone 5, and 5s this year, I always use a case. Bumper, case, sleeve. Anything thicker than a lining pouch. Best is those fabrix pouch from Nimbus.

Those interested in stickers can try Stickerboy.net as well. They have skins that cover the chamfers.
