I would love to but have no idea how to post images. My computer illiteracy basically limits me to text-only posts.
you can actually use image hosting services to get it done. eg. imageshack, flickr.

finally gave in to temptation & ordered the SWORD RED ALERT. i treat it as an upgrade from the sword 5+ gold. however nice i think the 5+ gold is, the champagne gold red alert is even more super nice looking. maybe getting the red colour as well for my black iphone :)

Tough Xtreme for iPhone 5 (can be use for 5S but Touch ID fingerprint sensor not accessible)

Almost perfect for my gym use
Bj9QG0D.jpg

After switching from 4 to 5S, my old fully covered case (for gym use) will not fit.
After an intensive search, had my eye on this Tough Xtreme as it was 98% covered (2% being the opening for the camera & ear piece), slim & best of all it came with a built in screen protector. So wanted to test if it works for 5S minus the ID sensor.
I am surprise that I could not find any review if it works on the 5S.
After months of no success, call the distributor & they said can work except the Touch ID.

- Basically it was a almost perfect case for gym use except for the 2 opening.
- It feels rugged, solid & tough & yet slim
- the cover for the vibrate switch does not fully sink in. It maybe due to a different position on the 5S. But it is not an issue to me.
- All the buttons & switches works. Home button works nicely as well
- built-in screen works well. I do feel a small gap between them but is is really not a big issue as well.
- installing & remove was easy.

The only cons i can find is:-
- Not totally covered (the 2 opening)
- not that cheap but not too expensive either

Overall satisfied with the purchase. Have not had a test run yet, so if there are further faults i will update.

My other alternative were:-
1. Case-mate Zero case - Was considering this already but after realizing that tough xtreme works drop the idea. (One thing about this case is that the Home button is exposed.)

Edit
Just one more thing to add is i do not know why the hole for the ear piece is off centered. Strange though.

Updated 15/2/14
Unfortunately not able to access the Control Centre. Camera & notification centre is able though.

Updated 18/2/14
Added comments when used in the gym:-
- Due to its rugged texture, its harder to get it in/out from my shorts pocket. I mean, I could leave on the floor or near the equipment used but that's my habit.
-Took some time to get use to the built-in protective. Need to press down slightly harder

Its only for an hour so its still good. So till a better alternative comes along I just have to stick to this :D

But still I can't deny the compact rugged look.

Huh?? Why not going for lifeproof nuud or fre for iPhone 5s?? Which will.work with the touch Id, if not you wasted the touch Id feature for iPhone 5s which is the attraction.

I considered it then when i had my iphone 4 but after reading the sub standard plastic screen the $$$ is not worth, so i went for something cheaper.

As for the nuud, no built in screen, absolutely no way.

I basically do not need it to be waterproof. Most important is a built-in screen to protect from my dirty hands :D I am abit of a clean freak

I only use this case during gym so not able to use the touch ID for an hour is fine.

So the tough xtreme comes the closest to my needs.

Oic, so u putting it in case for gym only??
Lunatik strike is another option haha...
All fully covered only the home button exposed. Screen covered with glass.
Anyway if just for an hour during the gym only is okay la. If not the ID touch wasted which I felt a must if u using iphone 5s Imo.

Yeap for gym only.

Lunatik I did briefly considered as well, in fact I do like it being totally covered but to unscrew, like 6-8 screws each time i go gym, not very practical. :)

Also i might add, at that time I was told the lifeproof is not meant for frequent install & removal. The hinge will break, i was told.

Honestly i like its sleek design & since it is waterproof, i can just wash it under the tap. But the fragile hinge & sub-standard built-in screen just wasn't worth it.
Disappointing, cause it was almost perfect case for gym use albeit the high price.

Happy CNY all.

Where can i buy cheaper PSAJ? Understand there are 2 versions in the market - i don't need the additional screen protectors etc.

Apple Premium reseller prices at 60 bucks is just crazy.

If discretion is needed, PM will do. Thanks. :)

Anyone used PSAJ rubber black or white can share their experience with it? Looking to get rubber white for my silver 5s.
