Does anyone has a recommendation on where I can go for repairs for my iPhone 5s, it displayed horizontal lines. The lines are still there after reset & restart. Thanks.

Hi Twelve123,

You may wish to do a clean restore for your iPhone 5S through iTunes to see its a hardware or software issue.

Occasionally, some iPhone's users may experience flickering/distorted display due to a SOFTWARE ISSUE. A software restore (Set the device as new upon restore) would sometimes resolve the issue.

If problem still persists after restore, you may wish to contact our Local Apple Hotline at 64808300 (Press 1 for Technical Support/Customer Relations) for further assistances/leeway.

It's not recommendable for iDevice's users seeking third party's help or any unauthorised repairs.

Don't hesitate to reply if there's any enquires, Cheers.

I went apple service centre just now, they say they do not do repairs for sets out of warranty and quote me $450 to change for a new set with 3 mths warranty.

I hv not backup my phone, I got no choice but to seek 3rd parties repairs.

Hi Twelve123,

Do backup your phone through iTunes. Restore your iPhone as new upon backing up.

I made a hint on the previous post: Contact Apple in regards of your issue even if your iPhone is outside of its initial 1 year Limited Warranty. Apple sometimes will make some leeway as service's recovery.

I made another hint as above. Whether you want to call Apple, it's totally at your discretion.

Cheers.

I am not trolling, but I am so peeved why you guys keep on resorting to 3rd party repairs.

Please follow what Food_Lover posted, do the basics!

1. Restart the phone.
2. Restore the phone and ensure its running iOS 8.3, do not restore from backup and monitor.
3. If all fails, its a hardware issue.

Its $450, BUT its at least an official tested QC Apple Replacement Unit dude.

Don't understand why you all like to risk 3rd party repairs just to save $200.

Choice is yours at the end of the day.

Thank you all for the advice. It's a hardware problem. I went sim lim n got it fixed for less than a hundred.

I would preferred to go back to apple but when I first approached them, they kinda reject with a hefty sum to solve my issue n lost of data.

Good for you. IMO, its never worth to save a few fundred. Now your warranty is official void (if any) and there is no official after sales support if your phone acts up.
