Hi fellow apple users!

My iphone 5's warranty ends in a few days' time, and I am thinking of fixing the lock screen button which is not responsive, need to press very hard to get it to work.

Any idea if the apple service centre at com centre (singtel) will repair the lock button, or replace with a refurbish set?

Do I have to leave my phone with them?

Refurbish sets will have scratches?

Thanks alot!

Hi,

Warranty ended?

Please call apple first, tell them your situation.

If they approve, take down the case number, ticket number, gsx number or whichever provided.

Then go Singtel and exchange :)

Did the replacement on early of this month @ Comcentre due to the lock button issue, got a brand new set.

According to the CSO, SingTel will give additional 90 days limited coverage for the replacement set start from the date u did the exchange.

Anyway I have purchased AppleCare for my IPhone 5. :)

I believe the current replacement set still will be IOS 6.1.4.

wah, so lucky of you to get a brand new set! I am worried they will give me a refurbished set that has scratches/dents on the phone leh...

My friend's iphone bought around the same time as me, got intermittent issues with wifi, sometimes is connected, but cannot load websites at all.... how to prove such problems ah?

It's not brand new exchange once u take the phone out of the store. It's 1 to 1 but a refurbished set. It's as good as new IMO.

I'm also gonna exchange mine due to two reasons. Unresponsive lock button and wanting to downgrade to ios6.

Check the phone SN and roughly you will know the production date. Anyway this info might not be accurate.

if you still have few days left, should go change ASAP.

once you change, you will have extra 90days coverage.

Recommend you to buy "applecare $99" to get another year of warranty.

Just tell them the problem and see what they say, but I think the better option will be take a video to prove in case they ask for it.
