iPhone 5S overheat

Hi Guys,

Anyone experienced your iphone 5S gets very hot when face time more than 10 minutes or playing games like asphalt 7 more than 10 minutes?

Not sure about Facetime but 3D intensive games will definitely work the processor more and of cos produce more heat?

My 5 heats up when I'm playing graphics intensive games as well.

If you don't see the temperature warning, it is not hot enough and normal.

Yup. For those who claimed that 5s is hot, I guess they have not tried holding an s3 after playing real racing 3 for an hour

I didn't see such warning, only uncomfortable to hold. An hour surely will be hot. How about around 15 minutes of playing graphic intensive/video call?

The only two situations that I have seen an iphone get hot :

1. High CPU/GPU use - Games
2. Heavy Mobile Data use (3G/4G) - Especially if in low level signal because the kernel bumps up the power to the mobile chip to get better thruput

Actually I use wifi when I do facetime and my router is less than 1 m.

Whats the normal length you play games/facetime before it gets uncomfortably hot?

no warning just hot and not comfortable to hold. Never been like that with my iphone 4 before

Overheat or just hot? Quite jialat if you say overheat since most phone will get hot after heavy usage?

I should've put question mark to the title as I was trying to ask whether other 5S users experience this issue.

Potential root cause:
- New A7 chip. More power, more heat
- Alumunium back. It's tranferring more heat to user compared with iphone 4/4s glass back and stainless steel band

It was very hot so I stop. I didn't keep playing/facetime till the warning show up. What I remember is playing asphalt 7 with my iphone 4 is not that hot.
