iPhone 6+: 4GB Cellular Data usage in 2 weeks

M1, iPhone 6+. 4GB Cellular Data quota, I accidently checked M1's data usage yesterday and just realized it already used 3.96GB... in just 2 weeks, before switching to iPhone 6+, the old iPhone 4s never exceeded 1GB/month for the same daily usage.

I am not complaining OS or Phone issue, because it did use that much after checked Settings/Cellular, 80% are used by YouTube app :-( I think video streaming size on big screen + 4G is much larger than small screen + 3G.

So, you may want to check "HD Video on Wi-Fi Only" in YouTube app settings to avoid overaged data charge.

Big phone... Big data eater.. Higher resolution loads higher quality data e.g images.. Just like pc... Ip6+ is now like no diff with how tablet eats data

always good to review the cellular data usage apps every now and then.. i realize moviebox is another culprit and disable it and download using wifi only

Looking to Settings / Cellular / System Services, something is interesting, looks like Mail app, iTunes accounts and iCloud Documents Sync are always using Cellular Data even phone is on Wi-Fi.

I used up 2.2gb on my first 2 weeks owning the ip6+.. The subsequent 2 weeks only took me 1.3gb.. On singtel here... So if it is ur first time then i guess subsequently u will see the difference...

new phone, more thing to explore, so use more data
from ip4 to note 2 to htc one
my data usage is 3-5gb per months, not much diff, it depends on what you use
use app to monitor, or reset the cellular data statistics every month lo

anyone notice on 1st of the month, the ip6 auto calculates the cellular data used without manually resetting the data statistics? Like auto reset upon month end...cool sia

you sure?

4g just means you download faster. Doesn't mean you consume more. Having said that... You tube at high resolution is bad, probably default high resolution if you are on 4g.
