iPhone 6+: 4GB Cellular Data usage in 2 weeks

another possible scenario is the cranky wifi connection all iOS 8 users faced before the 8.1 update.

i was using the 6+ one night at home connected to wifi, after watching a video stream, i realized the connection dropped to cellular. a check on my data counter revealed 800MB data usage.

could be due to that. even now, the wifi connection can drop from time to time. so have to be careful even when connected to wifi.

recently the data really consume more compare to previous time.

before change i6+, my data almost 3GB every month and some times exceeded. now after changing, is like 1 week 1 gb.

my friend's iphone 5 also same.
her iOs still 7, not yet up to 8.

so some times i suspect Sinktel. haha
(cos both of us using sinktel)

I also encountered same issue when i switch over to 6+ in early oct.

for iPhone users, can try Settings > Mobile > Use Mobile Data for. Turn off mobile data for apps that you hardly use.

You will be surprised at the number of apps that use mobile data.

nothing to do with carrier la.

it's whether u use british english, mobile. or american english, cellular. [when u did the initial setup]


we say mobile phone, they say cell phone.
