Yah, I never apply screen protector. Loving the "naked" feeling. Also, the screen looks awesome!

How smooth to slide really depends on the amount of water u apply on the SP; the tip is to add a couple of drops of mild dishwashing detergent (e.g. Mama Lemon) into a small bowl of water and then dip your fingers in and apply onto the SP, like spreading butter on bread..

There is an oleophobic coating, no need for any screen protector
