Anyone using iPhone 6+ on home wifi with asus ac68u on 5ghz channel?

Dont know if its problem with iphone 6+ or the iOS or the router.

Last time used iphone 4 & 5 with viewqwest zhone ont got no issues. But now i connect ac68u to my ont & found iphone 6+ seems very slow esp on youtube.

Just a short 5 min video it can lag & load many many times. Websites also take forever to load.

Got so frustrated i changed to note edge & its ok. Was on note 3 before and also ok. Website load fast & even 1 hr youtube video got no lag.

Anyone facing same issues?

If it's not on iOS 8.4, try updating?

If it is, try restoring/doing a clean install?

I'm also using an Asus router for my Singtel 1 GB fibre; my 6+ no issue at all in connecting to either 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz bandwidths.

All bandwidths pretty fast in loading urls & vids.

Yup. iOS 8.4 and router firmware is up to date. Viewqwest user here also.
Sigh. Don't know what happened to mine. Anyway will wait for 6S+ or whatever they call it to see if its worth jumping back to Apple.

Something tells me it was the iOS that corked up. I recall the iPhone couldn't remember the WIFI password i.e. I log in now its okay, I go out and come home and it asks for WIFI password again. That was eventually solved with an iOS update. I also recall one of the iOS updates killed cellular on the phone. :s8:

Really hope Apple irons out all this crap. No point rushing something out that's full of bugs. That's what Microsoft used to do with Windows. Sad to see Apple seems to be doing that with iOS too.

I doubt if it's got anything to do with ios; probably the firmware on your phone is corrupted; why don't you reset to factory settings & reinstall everything?

VQ user and am also using that router.
Did you previously install a network/configuration profile?
Sometimes these third party profiles will implicate your connection speeds.

Rarely its Apple.
I believe it has to do with your configuration.

Consider resetting your iPhone settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.

No network/configuration profile I am aware of. My set up is really simply. Zhone used as ONT. That is connected to AC68U router which then goes to my DLink switch which then goes to RJ45 ports all over. VQ sent their people over to help me set up so I'm pretty sure the network hardware is fine.

Anyways thanks to all for the tips. Was having so much issues with my iPhone 6+ including this connectivity issue at home with wifi that I sold it and got a Note Edge instead which had no issues at all with my home wifi.

Will bite the bullet and try the successor to iPhone 6+ and hopefully don't get the same problem again. :(

Having the router and also having problem with the all idevice but not on mbp. This is a known issue that apple device don't support wmm. Router like tplink, linksys, have this feature that have to switch off in order the streaming and the YouTube ok. This also happen if you have xbox 360.

You sold your 6+? Did u try reset to factory with iTunes and then restore from backup? Also resetting the Asus router?

My 6+ has no issues with 2.4 or 5 ghz channels of Asus 68ac. On latest firmware for both phone and router. Myrepublic 1gb
