iPhone 6 cannot start

After my sister swapped out to the iPhone 7+ last year, she accidentally left her iPhone 6 on while trying to sell it.
this resulted in the battery draining completely, and ever since then hasn't been able to to start. Not even sure if it's charging but we have tried leaving it plugged in etc.

Now, we just want to get some cash back for the phone. Anyone kind enough to share any solutions?
