iphone 6/ios 8 cellular usage higher than before

Check out what you've enabled for your cellular data usage under General -> Cellular.

Disable all those that you don't see a need to enable cellular for (iCloud backup for example). My data got cut down from 5GB+ in the first month to around 1.2GB for my second month after I reviewed the apps which I allow cellular data usage.

I now uses ~9GB of data per month on iPhone 6, compared to ~4GB based on same usage pattern and settings on previous iPhone 5.

What I notice is when surfing youtube on iPhone 6, it streams high quality most of the time. Maybe that's the main cause.

I already hit 9.5gb ... Cut off on the 19th every month..
