You don't have to close the app actually

iOS automatically "clears" the app as the RAM is used up

I do sometimes. & this is why....

After the advent of more apps given the ability to multitask, it appears that there are rogue apps draining the battery while in the background.
[Some apps do not have the toggle switch for background apps, & some still drain despite turning them off in background]

I've had the battery lasts longer while I close certain apps, than leaving them in the background.
