I currently am on Starhub's 300Mbps internet package with a D-Link DIR-868 router. Over wifi on the 5ghz network, I am able to get about 180Mbps down on the iPhone 6 (but I can get 282Mbps on my iPad Air 2). Will either of these improve if I upgrade to the 1Gbps service but retain the same router? I mainly use the internet for browsing/surfing/Youtube on my wireless AC devices.
Obviously the cabled connections will improve but apart from Netflix over VPN to the US (which speedtest rates at something like 4-5Mbps), I don't think the internet bandwidth with Starhub is the bottleneck for me.
