Iphone 6 light sensor

Hi need some help here. I'm on version 9.3.1

And recently while having conversation on the phone, placing phone on my ear.

The screen does not go blank like it used to. Ended up pressing so many buttons while on the line chatting over the phone.

Anyone know what went wrong?? It's quite irritating to have such issue while talking on the phone.

Pls advise.

TS, you seem to imply updating iOS will result in unknown feature disables. I don't know what reviews you're reading.

Go down to a repair shop and get the hardware checked out.

Not sure if this is caused by proximity sensor or the light sensor.

Anyway, you can first try turning off bluetooth and see if that solves your problem.

To test if the light sensor is working, you can try the following:

Turn the brightness all the way down in settings. Ensure auto-brightness is on. Goto a totally dark room. Unlock the phone. Goto the brightness settings. Turn on the room light. If the light sensor is working, you'll see the brightness bar sliding right to compensate for the room light.

I tried. The brightness don't seems to increase on its own. So it means that the light sensor is malfunction??

Cause I did not drop by phone or anything. It just stop working even after restoring and updating to the new IOS??

Well, from what you describe, it seems the light sensor not working.

But I'm not sure the "blanking" of screeen during call is activated by proximity sensor or light sensor.

Do you have a screen protector on? A old, scratched screen protector may interfere with the proximity or the light sensor as well.

The screen protector is not in the way of the screen. But what are the chances of proxy sensor malfunction for a 1.1yr old iPhone?? Without dropping or anything..
