iPhone 6 lost

I've lost my iPhone 6 but couldn't activate the lost mode because that person off the phone before I could activate lost mode. I have passcode locked my phone and have find my iPhone set up. To be safe, I've change my Apple ID password.

Would like to ask if I change my Apple ID password, would find my iPhone works if that person connects the phone to the Internet?

You did not have to change your Apple ID.
Once u've changed ur Apple ID password, u've just revoked your iPhone from using your Apple ID.

My god. So I just rendered my phone useless now? I've activated lost mode before I changed my Apple ID password, and the actions are pending and will take effect the next time the phone connects to the Internet.

Just want to ask, if the bugger puts a new sim and gets the phone connected to the Internet, will lost mode be triggered?

It does not work that way. Unfortunately, it is irreversible. You pretty much locked yourself out of finding your phone :/

hmm. ok. don't worry.
i've just confirmed that as long as the findmyiphone is still toggled "on" - it will function as accordingly (even if u've changed the password)

however, given the situation, u shld be best prepared for the worst.

Yes. I've alr prepared myself for the worst. Essentially the phone is deemed useless, since it's locked with a passcode, and the bugger can't restore nor sell it. I've always wondered what are these ppl thinking, they're holding on to a very expensive piece of metal. Why not just surrender to the police or try returning it. Sighhhh

But anyway, thanks for clarifying that find my iPhone still works even though I changed my Apple ID password. It's comforting to get replies from u guys (U tried it yourself?)

Yes! I'm all for this. I'm sure if enough ppl make a big hooha about this, apple will soon implement this.

If u want, there's a jailbreak tweak for this. I think I saw it somewhere when I research about lost iPhone.

They will sell the phone for the parts if they can't use it as a phone.

But somehow, somewhere, maybe the black market people are able to "make money" because they can restore the phone again.

anyway i did a test recently and found out that despite what everyone has been saying, activate find my phone mode, trigger or whatever. There are ways can still flash the phone to original factory settings and use it.

i did that on my iphone 5. Alarm did not trigger or anything.

Do all necessary clearing without connecting to the internet.
