Iphone 6 plus Charging Adapter

I am just curious and did a research online is the charging adapter the same watt voltage etc as all previous and current model of iphones? Can I use the iPad air charger to charge the ip 6 plus faster? I read that it is not good for the battery as it will take a toll on it but some mentioned that the device will know how much to take in for more then 5watt etc?

doesn't matter. i do it all the time.
in fact if your iPhone 6/6+ is plugged into any Macintosh, it's charges at 2100 mA
