Wow the price difference of z fold 8 512gb and Duo 256gb even… thought of “Switching”… was in the Samsung Z fold forum thread saw many users feel so happy with the affordable prices…. And laughing and mocking Apple users… but then I gave it a thought of the Resale value and the Rapid Price Depreciations of the Samsung phones… i think in the end it compensates the differences… heck, it may be cheaper to buy iPhones+AW vs Z Fold8+Galaxy Watch… the tracking of AW cannot be competed….

actually kinda funny to see how apple gets to live rent-free in the heads of samsung users all the time. they enjoy saying things like “apple is copying samsung”, but selectively forget about things like removing charging brick, removing headphone jack, and of course, failing to remember or mention anything about this ever happening:

For example, for 17 pro max 256gb srp is 1899, used one year then sell. Now likely around 1300? Dropped about $600.

you buy other android phones likely much cheaper than their srp. After one year you sell, likely dropped the same as iPhone + or - $100.
Just that selling iPhone will move faster

Yup I also observed the same for newer phones.

But older iphones still retain some value whereas comparable older Android phones may not even be accepted by Ah Beng shops anymore.

Within 1 year the drop usually quite similar l.
But if we say 2-5 years, then i think apple really hold more values.

iphone duo 256gb $3099.. even if opened set will be $2.8k-2.9k…

the problem is that samsung/platform giving sales discounts… setting new lower baseline price point for their new phones… to compete with iphone…

the problem is that samsung/platform giving sales discounts… setting new lower baseline price point for their new phones… to compete with iphone…

U could get fold 8 base model at 1.4k during Sammy PO stacking vouchers.. not here to debate which foldable is the better one here but I think the cost of acquiring also matters if u wanna factor in the slower depreciation/higher retention value for iphones lol..
