Not sure if anyone can help. I am locked out from my iPhone 5 after I installed iOS 7 last night. For some reason it doesn't accept the passcode that I enter. I have never changed my passcode on my iPhone for many years, maybe I entered the wrong code by mistake as I was kinda sleepy already.

When I try to do a restore using iTunes, it says "Find My iPhone must be turned off before it can be restored":eek::eek:

Now I really don't know what to do... I tried every passcode I can think of :(

Trying calling apple to help you reset your password. If u setup alternative email, reset from there.
In any case u still need iTunes password to work.

Thanks maxheadroom for the suggestion. I have to login to iCloud Find My iPhone to erase my phone and restore again. Because of this I have to apply urgent half day leave :o:(

If I'm correct you might not be able unlock after you have restored your phone unless you can remember your pass code..

But maybe if you remember your Apple ID and password, still got chance.

Restore your iPhone to new iPhone then restore from backup, no pass code needed

You can also try DFU mode to do clean restore

He needs to unlock the phone before it will allow him to restore from his backup regardless whether from iCloud or iTunes. So he needs to go find out what was his password for his Apple ID.

iOS 7 is that secure.

i remember my Apple ID and password, thats why i am able to login to iCloud and erase my iPhone via Find My iPhone.

I'm not sure if anyone face this problem... first I installed iOS 7, activated my iPhone, no problem with my existing passcode, because I can unlock it. Then i reset all settings, which will turn off my passcode lock. I went in to set a new passcode (same as previous code) and other misc settings. After that I am not able to unlock with my passcode!

Now, I after erase my iPhone (since I can't unlock my iPhone) via iCloud Find My iPhone, restore from backup, reset all settings again, after i set a new passcode, i CANNOT unlock my phone again! I'm pretty sure I enter the same code this time :eek:

I did the same on my iPad Mini and I don't have this problem. Could this be a bug for iPhone 5??

Is your Find My IPhone app updated to the latest version? Your case is so strange.

Bizarre thing is, it allows me to reset all settings with the same passcode when prompted! But I didn't proceed to reset my settings... So I try to enter the Passcode Lock again, and it prompt me to enter the passcode, and this time it didn't accept my passcode again!

So I decided I should reset all settings again, ask me for passcode as usual, it didn't accept! Have to try 7-8 times (with the same passcode) then it finally accepted... something is really wrong here! :s11::s11:

Is your passcode in alphanumeric?

Can double check what you entered is absolutely correct?

numeric only... confirm 101%

I manage to reset all settings again and configured my passcode. So far ok, but lets see how...
