iPhone Map assisted guide, needs cellular data?

Will be driving to Malaysia for the 1st time, myself, without someone more experienced beside me. I saw that the iOS Map can guide me to my destination. Does it consume cellular data to do so? I will not be having data roaming over there, nor will I have wifi while driving.

if u set it in singapore, it will be able to guide u all the way provided u follow the route closely. i did it when i traveling to jb premier outlet. at first i'm out of the way at the custom but once i'm on the track, it leads me back to the location. the key is to use the route it provided, if you go out of the route, it will not auto adjust for you if you don't have data.

I think can use google maps to cache e area u need before setting off. type "ok maps" in e search field after setting e zoom level desired.

TS - why don't u get a GPS app just to be on the safe side. Sygic S'pore & Malaysia is not bad; there's a free trial period of 30 days.
