iPhone ProRes recording

We can now record video in ProRes format via third Party app, such as Filmic Pro (above link).
Its a good move by Apple not to restrict ProRes to its native app.
Another advantage its not so customize unique to iPhone but the standard Proxy/LT/422, 10-bit and 4:2:2 chroma

Unfortunately, its not compatible with cinekit (LOG) at this point in time, so not very useful.

LOG + ProRes will be a combo hard to beat by other phone manufacturers on mobile cinematography

20mins of footage takes up 80Gb of storage. And the slow transfer speed to Mac makes the whole process annoying.

There's not much alternative, most of not all consumer level camera doesnt support ProRes internal beside bmpcc, which is not targeting consumers.

Since we always have iPhone with us, it offer a convenience option to be creative, or as a b camera for some.

I've MS 365 family so I'll just sync with Onedrive.
But its just me who dont mind. I know of "normal" users will avoid due to the huge file sizes + no intention for post production

Cool video, you have already see the different especially in the highlights and contrast. (considering YT is compressed). The whole point of ProRes is a more robust file for post production. We still in the early stage, would be looking forward to see results of chroma keying a green screen or extreme color correction/grading compared with the non ProRes footage.
