Have always bought an iphone that has the highest or 2nd highest storage capacity. On top of that i subscribe to a 200gb icloud monthly.

I have been taking lots of photos the past 2 years and realised the usage in my iphone 11PM is only 56gb out of 256gb. Planning to change to IP13pro and am thinking if i should continue with a 256 or just “downgrade” to a 128 although i must admit, with Apple’s marketing, buying the 128 seems like i am buying lousy stuff 😂.

Decided to check with those here if u buy 128gb or always go for the highest capacity even if u do not utilise it? I change iphones 2-3 yearly, not every year.

what’s your storage usage vs capacity of the phone?

I think the demand for 128gb ip13 pro max is almost the same as the 256gb. Cause i been trying to get 128gb ip13pm from carousell and almost all was sold out within 15 min

I got the 128gb pro max. I also got think I will use the 256gb but when I look at my usage it’s only about 40gb.

not falling for marketing, coz it’s sounds cool for pro res but I won’t be using it. I think you won’t find the difference with 128gb or 256gb.

the reason why people choose 128gb other than it’s the cheapest, it’s also because it’s easier to resell with minimum loss.

If thru out your pass few yrs of usage is around 60GB, just get the 128GB model. It's already safe.

What you mean by safe spot?

As in since TS takes lots of videos, you’ll never know if the capacity reaches 100GB or more. 128GB is not so ideal in this case as it’s not advisable as 128GB estimated only to have 122GB or user storage.

256GB is ‘safer’ as there’s more buffer to store other stuffs such as photos and even games. Unless TS stores everything in iCloud.

Of course all these are only suggestions, ultimately it’s up to the individual.

If 128 makes you feel like buying lousy stuff, then you already answered your own question. Just go for a 256GB.

And also I think ProRes only support 256gb and above? 128gb will not have this feature.
