Have googled about this & most websites suggest clearing browser history (done) & removing temp files (dont recall having any). I dont stream music & the only thing close to video streaming i do is youtube.

My others is 5.9gb which is not massive considering my phone is 64gb. But it is larger than my media files storage. What else can i do to reduce the size of others?

I heard a hard reset & reinstalling everything helps but when i changed phones recently the apps already reinstalled so that’s settled.

On my father’s iPhone 6s lagi worst. 16gb model with very few apps installed. Zero media files but his others is 50% of the used space!

Removing all of those usually does not count into others. They go into their respective apps.

The others usually contains things like system files, software updates, Siri voices, cached files, logs, and more.

iOS only displays the top categories. If a category doesn't take much space, it might be counted as "Other." Storage space taken by "System" is a combination of space taken by iOS and its supporting files. The amount of space required by "System" varies from device to device depending on the device type, model, country, carrier, Siri voices, and more.

There is really nothing you can do to change the nature of iOS as long as it does not affect the functions and performance of the device. Others will scale according by the system's demands.

I searched about this long ago when I had the same issue. Apparently it either increases over time or after updating your iOS version. What worked for me was restarting and backing up the device.

It worked for me, when I just transferred to my new 11 pro max i had about 5gb system and 22gb "others". After transferring I restart, backup on pc, then restart again. Now my "others is sitting right below 5gb. Can give it a try see whether it helped.
