You can open up your iphone, Apple will still service and change battery for you even if its out of warranty.

But if you open up your iphone and changes/repairs are made, then no, apple will not entertain you anymore.

Opening up the phone is fine for apple, as long as no changes/repairs/fixes are made.

I am curious about this as well. ie. my iphone X has a third party battery and now wants to go back to Apple battery. A dated article says it seems possible?

For iPhone X if you intend to continue using, I'd suggest going to Apple. Mine's 89% and my intention is to let it live for another few years, so I'll head to Apple.

Went for 3rd party for my old iPhone 4 and battery life was poor and finally bloated. Waste of money, even if it's not much.

just make an appt with  n let them check. they’ll tell u if they can accept e phone or not
