Because USB-C cables standard is quite a mess...
Just charge your iPhone with an iPad Charger and you'll get "fast charge"

Not all USB-C cables are the same and Equal. 3rd party cables may not be designed or set the same for fast charging. Apple's one is safe and confirmed for fast charging.

yeah but the apple cable does not last long and breaks easily..plus i prefer my cables to be extra long so i can use while on the bed. i usually use 3rd party cables (anker etc). hopefully apple will allow mfi cert for usb-c to lightning soon. Is there really no "good" non mfi usbc-lighting cables out at the moment? even from reputable brands?
