iPhone X problem - Avoid any USB power port

i was oversea last week and plug my phone into a USB port beside my bed; My phone rebooted and hanged at Apple Logo screen.

I brought it to local Apple Store; they have to wipe my phone to bring it back. I lost all my data

lol what do u mean by avoid any usb power port? that's how all phones normally charge isn't it?

Something similar happened to mine last night while i was updating the IOS. Downloaded the ios and i got the error unable to update iphone due to error 9. Went to apple logo screen and had to reboot.

I did a backup before i updated so thankfully nothing was lost. Had to reset to factory settings and restore from the backup.

Apparently, the cable i used was faulty after i did a search online. But nothing happened when i did my back up.

Switched cables to reset to factory setting and restored my iphone via my last backup

I'm using wireless charging now, so far so good.
