iPhone X warranty start date

I have a sealed Iphone that I bought from a person who signed a line at starhub.

The box is still sealed.

Bit when I check thae warranty online, it showed warranty started on day phonevwas purchased as I have the receipt.

I thought warranty starts from day phone is activated when phone is switched on with SIM card.

Anyone know what happened in my case?

Warranty starts on the date of purchase

Because your iPhone is purchased from an official retailer, your phone will be pre activated based on the receipt.

As such it doesn’t matter which day you’re activating, but merely on the association of Apple id to the phone.
