I am quite sold by the reviews on net. The portrait mode in low light for XR looks impressive

I don't mind the lower resolution. Believe that XR will last longer than XS in the long run. My iPhone 7plus is sold off but I am keeping my iPhone 7 . The ip7 is more responsive as it is pushing lesser pixels

the single lens seems to be okay and sometimes better than XS.

It uses the single wide angle lens... so night shots are better.

The problem is.. the portrait mode (bokeh) on iphone xr only works on human. That is the deal breaker. :(

I will gladly get the iPhone XR if the portrait mode works just like the dual camera system. :s22::s22:

Yeah I agree too that’s the deal breaker, I take daily pics of objects rather then myself

Is it just a software limitation? If that is, perhaps apple can deliver new updates along the way to update the iphone xr camera software to get better portrait mode.

actually iPhone sensor size quite big, the natural bokeh not too shabby eh

I've taken some nice closeups of objects with blurred background on my iPX!

I don't usually take portrait shots on inanimate objects. But for humans, I actually find the portrait mode on XR better since it doesn't require you to go as close to the human as required on the X/XS.
