in all my years of using a phone (including androids and iphone), i've never had a cracked or broken lens and have never bothered protecting the rear lens. I'm not exactly careful with my stuff either.

People think it will protect the rear lens but it's because the protector glass is weaker than the lens glass.

But if you want, i think better to get a good quality one. It's also similar to the concept of why photographers don't put cheap filters in front of their expensive glass.
i heard Hoda glass not bad ?

is it true?

Never use before so can't comment but it's one of the better ones out there from what i heard. Also no matter how good, any extra layer of glass will degrade image quality/introduce reflection/deflection etc.

Also, even if it use the same sapphire material as the actual lens, if the protector shatters, it can scratch the lens if they are on the same hardness scale. (unless it is not real sapphire then won't scratch)

Is anyone using tempered glass camera lens protectors for their IP15?

Is it a necessity, good to have or just not necessary?

I’m contemplating between those one square piece that covers the camera lens plus the glass bump, or those 3 individual pieces that just covers the lens. Is it necessary to protect the glass bump as well?

I feel not needed to.
