Iphone5 vs S5 Camera

Hi guys!

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.

I need to record some videos for my niece's school performance and I got a Iphone5 and S5, I know S5 camera is 16MP while Iphone5 is only 8MP, does this automatically means S5 camera will be better at video recording?

Also would you please recommend me a good app(free) for video recording?

Curious about this too but since you're not a 'serious' photographer. I rather you just enjoy the moment and take all of its glory without having to take a picture of it.
