Do not on your phone/charge your phone, this is to prevent short-circuit. Place your phone into a bag of rice(try to use a hair-dryer to heat the rice first). Once done, just place your phone inside the heated bag of rice and leave it in there for 3 to 4 days. It should have sucked the moisture out by then. :)

Can also use silica gels if u dont mind paying a bit. Much better effect than rice i feel and u can recycle them.

It depends. If your phone has not been switched off that means it wasn't submerged underwater for long. Don't need to switch it off, just place it in the heated bag of rice for 3 to 4 days. By then, the moisture should have been all gone.

When the iPhone was submerged into the water, I believe the phone was on right? Then I think the circuitry inside would have been short-circuited.

electricity + electronic + water = disaster

If the iPhone was splash with water, still not too bad. But to submerge, dip inside a pool, etc... when the phone was still on. Most likely can use for paperweight liao.

But no harm trying the above mentioned methods by others. I've personally dropped my iPhone into a bowl of porridge before. Lucky can still salvage.

I recalled a freak accident.

I normally carry my phone in my small pouch attached around my waist. Once I was at a public toilet, in the cubicle, while adjusting my pants, I somehow jerked my iPhone 5 out of my unzipped pouch and it fell into the toilet bowl (lucky it was clean). Instantly I dipped my hand in to retrieve it.

Couldn't recall if it went dead. But it did work normally after that. Phew!

So now, I will make sure I zip up my pouch to prevent such similar accident. Lol

Dropped my HTC one in a bowl of hot soup. It died.

Put it in a bunch of silica gel overnight. Next day, it fired right up. But a notification LED took a week to come back to life for some weird reason.
