Received reply from Sapura that the device was recently dispatched for repair despite the set was handed over to them about 1 month ago.

I think they're sending the iPods in batches. So it probably took them 1 month to collate sufficient number of iPods before sending them for replacement.

I just made call to check for eligibility

they said unit only will be fine, should have no crack on screen and casing, and should be able to be turned on for few seconds.

will send to them this week.

btw mine is 1st gen black 4gb ipod nano manufactured in 2005, long time not using it, last time I used the battery already was not so good :p

actually I am hoping to get 1st gen replacement, I never compare it personally but many say that 1st gen ipods are using better audio chip which produces "better" sound

Yes Dicxz, you are absolutely right. I agree with you that the 1st gen has better sound quality.

Its been 8 weeks already, but still no news from eServ. Called them and they said just wait for their call. No details on when I can collect it.
Heard that US giving gen 6 ipod nano as replacement and in less than a month. Maybe Apple collecting enough 1st gen so that they can change the batt and do the exchange in sgp??? Just speculating...

Sapura has said even customers whom sent right after recall have not gotten anything because they had no shipment and they have alerted Apple...
