Ok, the thing about the strips is this, the glue isnt very strong. That works both ways, meaning it can be taken off without leaving unsightly or damaging marks on Roomba. Problem is, Roomba is so active and it goes smashing into almost every and anything, the edge of the strip tends to come off after a while. I just had to super glue the edges when that happens. Also, avoid white or light coloured strips, tends to get dirty looking very quickly. As for docking, no issues even with the super thick black strip since its soft and compressible. Just make sure u dont cover the wall following IR emitter/receiver at the bumper!

It only detects bin full in the larger compartment, not the dust filter compartment which usually gets choked way before the larger bin fills up. Thats why i said the intelli-bin function is useless, more of a gimmick!

i got problem with the docking process when i put sponge on it about 1cm thick, it just too thick to dock. mine is the 560. Now i got to use a thinner one.

BTW, anyone got idea to protect the "screen" of 5xx series? can seems to find "screen protector" that is so big.

The sponge is not as compressible. The thick black leather strip i used is actually a rubber D channel which is hollow in the middle. Its pretty compressible, so no issues with docking. That said, i dont know if it'll pose a problem with the 5XX series. In any case, the weather strip for 5xx may not be an ideal solution. Protecting the 'screen' is more of an issue. Perhaps u can try using those book wrapping transpartent sheet?[

Scooba 335 and roomba 535 modification?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Scooba 335 and a roomba 535 from HSN. Does anyone know how to convert the power so that I can use it safely?

I remember reading somewhere in the thread something about some modification to ensure the irobot will last longer, but the thing is this thread is sooo long! I cant find it now...

I just found a website. Seems like the process is tedious and using 220 convert to 110V is not recommended...anyone any idea???

why don't just get a 100w transformer? I had used that for almost 1 yr already, trouble-free.

Please do a search within this thread, this topic has been discussed before. Basically, if u need to use yr 110V appliances, go get a STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER (not converter). For ONE single Roomba or Scooba, recommend u get either a Super or Newstar 100W Step Down transformer. Nothing tedious, 220V input output 110V.

My Scooba 335 and roomba 535 is arriving tomorrow saturday by 12pm, that's why too excited...hope it will be fine...its like hiring 2 maids. I hope I will not regret buying frmo HSN and not irobot website, afterall this 2 robots are not sold on irobot website...think some accessories difference.

Just wondering, anyone has the same robots as me?

btw how did you buy from hsn.com? most of the ppl here order from hsn.com with sg credit cards and orders were rejected.
