Controlling iRobot Roomba 560 with PSP

Ok maybe I am slow but I realized the iRobot Roomba 560 can be controlled with PSP! Just need to load in iR Shell and the appropriate IR codes.

Have made the IR Codes available as a download here.

Cos you told me that the 560 comes with built-in IR and I am determined to chase my furballs with the 560 .

I used Pocket PC IR to control Roomba before, but the PPC IR range is within 1 ft, so not practical at all. PSP IR can beam far?

I can control the Roomba until it is like 1.5m to 2m away. More than that my furniture in my current flat will obstruct.

Logitech remote is a "learning" remote, so u at least need an iRobot remote, or a PSP that will beam out the appropriate IR signals for Logitech remote to "learn".

I think notebook IR port also has very short range, probably shorter than PSP.

iRobot IR remote can control Roomba/Scooba across 2 rooms (line of sight).
The Wireless Command Centre can control Wireless-enabled Roomba (eg. 535, 540, 550, 560) across 1 storey. But why would someone want to control something that's not even within one's view?

Yah, the basic black remote or scheduler white remote will control both Roomba 400, 500 & Scooba. If u need, I have them for sale.

Both have same navigation functions. The white scheduler remote ONLY schedules 400 series Roomba, not 500 series.

Yes, applies to all Scooba models.

Scooba VW (blue/grey) works on all Roomba. Only Roomba 400 VW (grey/beige/scheduler) work on Scooba.

Any virtual wall including the black one that has a on/off button is usable on either roomba or scooba.
