1st time buying open box item... I thought it was a display set like the fridge at HN. BUT it turned out to be: welll stoosi is doing great at sending me this email:

Registration to amazon prime will give you 1 time free 2 day delivery.

I didnt use as got free shipping for the 5800. Mine will be delivered to Cgw on 28/8. No pt deliver earlier as my stoosi roomba will only arrive on 26/8 or around there.

I shall use the amazon prime for my next purchase which doesnt hv free delivery.

Effective? Majority of us here feel so. After 298 pages of Irobot, what do you think?

Recommendatio: Get a Scooba. Then get a Roomba. Then relax and watch it goes. Howevr, you must hv some diy skill, as there is no dealer support if u buy fr US. So far my scooba n roomba are >1 yr and still are my working horses.

2. Comgateway (tied with DBS n OCBC credit card)
3. Borderlinx (tied with Citi credit card)

Now cheapest is Comgateway. You can buy from Amazon by using your credit card and ship to comgateway. Other sites also can but some (in fact most) will not accept non-US credit card. Now amazon got scooba remanufactured 5800 at US149 shipped to comgateway. Shipping fr CGW to SG is about SGD60. Hence total will cost you <SGD300. However, pls bear in mind that there is no warranty if use outside USA. The risk is there otherwise there wont be good saving on cost.

Read the pages, it takes you 1/2day and google for more info. We all did that. Welcome aboard and your mom will be very pleased!

I wonder is it better to pay less for a remanufactured scooba 5800 since there wouldn't be warranty anyway? or should i get new scooba for a peace of mind?

Btw any of you brought the dirtdog? seems useful for cleaning large debris. I am debating whether i should get dirtdog first instead of roomba. Since price is also cheaper and can use for cleaning workshop and my varandah. I will check if they give discount for combine shippment.

Anyone has extra scooba battery for selling? My batt no longer holds its charge, can only run 10 minutes

It is always better to get a new set if the price diff is not much. So far the cheapest new set of Scooba 340 (similar to 380) is fr HSN which sold for us200+. Mosmos managed to buy one set. Now, HSN no offer and if got also difficult to buy as they dont accept non-us credit card. Some1 even said they banned forwarder like cgw & bdx.

Dirtdog is for workshop. It acts like a broom... not really vacuuming. Google for more info & if it suits your place, why not?
