Thks for the great info! I registered and it went ok. But, why the shopping only show Conciege and not normal order? Is that the only way to shop with HSBC ideal?![]()

yup, you need to wait 1-2 wks for the letter to send to you. very slow.

Thanks doremifa, will wait patiently.Didn't expect to be so troublesome to buy from US. Since i have to wait, might as well open a new DBS account w debit card for online shopping purpose and top up as and when i need to buy something. I heard that debit card for shopping is not advicable because they can deduct the amount immidiately. I apply a few credit cards before but ganna rejected

blog post teach you how to avoid gst using vpost, comgateway or borderlinx.http://myspreeshop.blogspot.com/2008/05/lesson-4-how-not-to-incur-gst.html
You will incur GST if your purchase is more than SGD400. Vpost and CGW have different ways to determine if GST will be incurred.
Vpost
Your order purchased in USD (including any domestic shipping fee) x Exchange Rate + International Shipping Fee is less than SGD400, GST will not be incurred!
E.g. (purchase of USD200 + USD15 domestic shipping fee) x 1.55 (an estimated exchange rate) = SGD333.25, so you pray that your international shipping fee will not be more than SGD66.75.
The cap of SGD400 is based on per merchant, so it means that you can consolidate orders from different merchants to share the base charge, so long the amount for each merchant is less than SGD400, GST will not be incurred.
CGW
Your order purchased in USD (including any domestic shipping fee) x Exchange Rate x 1.245 (a pre-determined factor for freight and insurance charges) is less than SGD400, GST will not be incurred!
E.g. if based on the above e.g. used for Vpost, you will likely to hit GST as USD215 x 1.55 x 1.245 > SGD400. If you kept your purchase to about USD200, you should be quite safe as US exchange rate is lower during this period. Advantage of this is if
your item is very heavy or bulky, you do not need to worry that your international shipping fee will cause you to pay GST as the pre-determined factor of 1.245 is used.
The cap of SGD400 is based on per shipment, so it means that you can consolidate orders from different merchants, provided that the total amount for all merchants is less than SGD400 in order not to incur GST. However, do note that CGW only allows you to consolidate 3 orders.
Borderlinx
From what I understand from Borderlinx's CSO, if your order purchased in USD x Exchange Rate + International Shipping Fee is less than SGD400, GST will not be incurred!
The cap of SGD400 is based on per shipment, so it means that you can consolidate orders from different merchants, provided that the total amount for all merchants is less than SGD400 in order not to incur GST. As far as I understand, there is no limit to the number of orders that you can consolidate; however, if the total amount for that shipment is above SGD400, GST will be incurred.

i guess you need to click their livechat for help.i guess you need to click their livechat for help.
Have you shipped your items to the cgw address?I already had an a/c with cgw and my goods are directed to that a/c. Now HSBC got free 1st kg, i registered another a/c using HSBC card. Guess wat? They disabled my 1st a/c. I live chatted with them n they wld re-enable my a/c. Do you think i can switch my shipment to HSBC?
1 thing nbad about cgw is that you can't view the particulars of your a/c.![]()
