Hi,

I am considering to get the Scooba380 but i read alot about the cleaning solution and it may damage the device.

What is the best alterative to the Clorox for irobot?

Kiwi Kleen? Clorox (local)? Sunshine D28?

I would suggest you get a roomba, or both roomba and scooba. I got my roomba to do the work on tue, thu and sun. and once a week I will use scooba on sunday after roomba.

Roomba is much easier and convenient to use compare to scooba as you can schedule it and only do the cleaning after it has completed the work. Scooba needs more attention by refilling the water (new battery can do 2 cycles)

I'm comfortable with D28, its PH neutral and works well with Scooba. In addition, 1 bottle lasts u a LOOOOOOOOONG time.

The Italian and the Korean version should be similar, except the Italian comes with English manual and label. The Korean should have a Korean voice navigation/guide.

Where to get:

1) Online

a) Ebay (US$499 inclusive of shipping to Singapore)
b) Online stores in Italy

2) Korea

3) Italy

Anyone interested? Maybe we can do a MO on the Samsung VC-RE72?

this looks v interesting.

u know where we can get one?

Hi,

I am tempted to buy the Scooba 380 for $449.95 from Hammacher Schlemmer

Anyone bought from that website before? I am afraid it will not accept local credit cards like HSN.

i got the roomba 560 recently on ebay and is happy with it. now considering the scooba but seam the feedback is not as good as the roomba.

also considering between the Scooba 340 or 380. Price difference is about USD$110.

Really concern that the pump will be faulty esp i am also planning to get from ebay and not local distributor thus want to be sure before i buy...

thanks

hi thewiseone, saw u post D28 before. So you have been using for a while and your scooba is working fine?

Also can u repeat the ratio of D28 and water?

About 1.5 teaspoon of D28 for 1 Scooba tank of water. Yes, i've been using it for a while and my Scooba is doing fine. I'd suggest u get the smaller 500ml instead of the 1l D28, it takes too long to finish the bottle.

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience getting replacement batteries for the roomba & scooba by local vendors in SLS or other local sources?

I wanted to buy the replacement batteries from irobot.com but realized that they sell them cheaper locally. However, I'm not sure if they are reliable.

Any suggestions would be great.

TIA!

there's this seller advertising online for roomba & scooba batts from $90 - $100. but his batts are mAh. I don't really know the difference but am I supposed to get NiMH?

btw, can your spare batt clean as efficiently as the original batt?

I made the mistake of leaving my battery in my roomba & scooba :( resulting in problems with it. sigh ...

His batteries should also be NIMH. mAh refers to milli-amphere per hour, the higher it is, the longer it surpose to last.

You can try removing the battery, do a reset and recharge directly for 72 hrs without using the homebase if you have one. I don't know if it helps for your case where batteries are totaly discharge from the unit but it does erase the memory effect of the battery allowing you to restore the old battery.

my spare batt is original batt that i got from irobot.com directly..
it work the same as the original batt that came with the package.

mAh should be the batt power..
higher mAh means it can last longer..

thanks for the explanation.

i tried the procedure and it doesn't work (the low-batt-song just keeps playing and playing and playing). guess i should get the original battery from irobot.com. seems like a safer choice.
