oh no no i bought 2x 380. ordered 1 more for my mum. then i am going to get 1 more for her (when price drop) and also 1 roomba for myself. so altogether is 5

RobotAddon. its not to protect the bumper but my furniture... but its to be placed at the bumper. there's a demo on their site. can get them from amazon too but i bought directly from them and was given a free filter. i havent receive the item yet as i send to US address for consolidation.

Sometimes consolidation is more expensive especially if you ship 2 robots together due to tax. Mix and match and you will find that to dispatch individually is cheaper. Mix small item with one robot in a way the amount is not taxable. Do not ship all 5 robots together.

Can someone tell me how do u guys use yr Scooba. U run it until yr scooba die or u stop after 1st mission. and when u guys charge that battery. and pls quote how long yr battery tahan so we can share on how to utilise that battery and dont kill it faster than it should be. Thank you!!!

my batt all last for around 9mths only then i need to change liao.
so far on my 3rd batt with a 4th batt as spare.

a new batt last for 90 to 120mins on my scooba 340. and the cleaning time will slowly decrease.

normally i use twice per week. and leave the battery in scooba and charged 24/7.

I notice that if i am too busy. and didnt use the scooba for 1 week or so, the battery live will decrease a lot.

Said these many times b4...

1) Dont waste $$$ on Li-Ions. The minimal gain in lifespan is not worth the added costs

2) To prolong life of Scooba batteries, use MORE than 1 battery. Do not subject each battery to more than 1 cleaning CYCLE.

3) Try to charge the batteries only after they have cooled down. Do not charge each battery for more than 3.5hrs.

i tried this when i 1st got my roomba.
charge liao then batt full disconnect it.
after a while the whole battery spoil. unable to charge anymore. the battery will be forever in charging mode. and its flat.

mayb its juz my luck with that battery.
but after that, i juz let it charge 24/7.
it will die off slowly, but better then it dying in juz a few cycle..

The reason for the 3.5hr charge cycle only applies when u use the external charger. Unless improvements have been made to the newer chargers, the old EXTERNAL chargers (due to the high charging current) will pre-maturely kill the batteries.

ohhhhh ok thanks. busy to go through all the threads again at the moment and yet, dont wana murder the batteries.

... every 1 cycle must charge it. then what happened to the 1 cycle power? i am totally clueless abt the type of batteries etc but only know that one kind of battery... if there's power left, the charger will depleted the power n then fully charge it again. so its like 'wasting the remaining power'..... will this also applied to scooba battery?

when u mentioned abt getting 2 batteries, do u mean get another battery from irobot directly and not those OEM type?

ps i am using 2009 external charger for scooba 380.

my scooba battery can run abt 2missions. 1 mission = full tank light ON right after running the scooba?

i used to charge immediately after charger goes flat. Now I charge when i want to use it. its like 3-5days later

i think mine needs abt 4 to 4hrs+ to be fully charged or before i see the blinging green color. so in this case, do i still charge it for only 3.5hrs? or until the pulsing light is off.

Why would the charger deplete the power? It will just charge till one of the 12 cells is full.

Replica is fine, they are still made of 12 cells of NimH batt. If you have the money just go ahead with the original which I see you have as you get so many top of the line scooba 380

Yup, 1 mission is 1 full tank till the chek tank indicator lights up. I disagree with the 1 batt 1 mission, your 380 comes with high capacity batt like you say allows 2 cleanning mission. As long as you don't frequently use till the red low batt lights up, it is still fine to go for 2 mission.

You should stop once the charging indicator stops blinking for external charger. It is advisable to fully charged and store the batt. A depleted batt is no good though once a while you can depleted it and trickle charge the batt.

The Scooba 340/380 comes with a high capacity which can provide u UP to 2 missions of runtime. As with usage, the battery will wear out (which can be pretty quick, depending on usage frequency). By using 1 battery just for one mission, the usable (read: practical) lifespan of the battery will be longer. As the Scooba current draw is relatively high, running the Scooba on a single battery for long missions stresses the battery (not to mention the heat generated). Its certainly not something u would want to do for battery longevity. This is my experience after having used Scoobas for years, running 24/7. YMMV.

In yr context, the first scenario is more appropriate. 24/7 means running 7 days a week, 2 missions per day. Unless u need to run more than 2 missions a day, charge the batteries after each mission.

Over 2 years based on my usage pattern. U dont need to charge it religiously for 3.5hrs each time. When the charge indicator light goes off, u can remove the battery
