Roomba never fail to amaze anyone with just a single run. The price you see is a little on the high side. You can get a 560 with that price.

Feel free to browse my store.

The store only have 560 & 570. Got other models, like 530??

I do not have 530 as I bring in models suitable for a 4-5 room flat. 530 cleans 3 rooms while 560 cleans 4 rooms. You can see Uno's store as I think he might have some. Or if you want I can bring it in 5-7 days time.

if you have not used irobot products before, you may think and question. once you use one, there's no turning back.

i started off with 560, then later bought 530 and also a scooba. even with the new release of 230, i also thinking of buying but at a later time.

anyway, do you need it to run when you are not around? 530 needs manual activation compared to 560, which you can set a specific time for it to run. eg between 9 to 6pm when you are working.

but whichever you get, first few runs it's best you do it when you are around, so that you can identify what are the potiential hazards which the roomba can run into. thinks which you don't give much thought about may actually cause blockage to a roomba.

example, my room has attached toilet. as i thought roomba can do edge detection, so i let it run. but the height from room to toilet is not v high, so the roomba just slips into the toilet and unable to climb back up.

Which company did you use? Perhaps I should use another company next time. This one is through borderlessbuys.com.sg and they Use comgateway. Total volumetric weight is 17.5kg.

What was the weight of roomba?

wow, pretty ex. i guess buying from a good vendor is important then. i got mine from woot.

cause my roomba/scooba have their own box. so no need any extra box packaging.

shipped by borderlinx which amounts to USD40. my last scooba and roomba even got 30% discount.

now should be a great time to hoot cause of relatively low USD exchange.

Just checked the shipment cost breakdown. The USD140 is inclusive of GST and insurance. It's not as bad as I initially thought after all :)

Just to share my personal experience with ComGateway. Their service is really bad.

First of all, it takes ages (10-15 mins) to get in touch with their customer service through live chat. Once it is my turn, it takes them 2-3 mins to respond to each of my questions.

Secondly, I paid the premium to have the product delivered to me through 'express delivery' which they claimed in their website that it takes 3-4 days to deliver to me. Well I made the payment on the 8th January and only received the tracking number today (12th Jan)!!! The estimate delivery date is 18th January!!!!

I'll sure blacklist this company for future purchase.

Borderlinx is good. They are cheaper and includes insurance. Average is about 4-7 days. Comgateway use to be fast with it's livechat but I guess their customer base grows too fast or they are cutting cost in manpower which results in long waiting now. However my recent experience with them is amazing. 3 days delivered after I paid :s31:

When you received a free gift from them, it comes with another box of it's own. They will then find a bigger box to contain the 2 items together to ship as 1 package. That is how you get the volumetric weight. Congrats on your new scooba.

My Review of Neato.

Hi kenloonglow,

As promised, here's my little personal review of Neato XV-11 robotic vacuum.

PACKING:
Neato is well packed in the box with room on all 4 sides of the box. Amazon placed the Neato vacuum in a much bigger box resulting in higher shipment cost for me from the US. I strongly suggest repacking if this option is available to you.

INSIDE THE BOX:
Neato XV-11
Power adapter that supports 100-240v. So you do not need modification.
A spare filter
User manual
Quick user guide
Magnetic strip

BUILT QUALITY:
Neato is much heavier that I tought it would be. The built quality is very good and very sturdy. You can feel the built quality the moment you hold onto it.

It is greyish in colour. Something like the colour of a tank!

USING NEATO:
Charging time is between 2-3 hours. The LED status light tells you what is the current battery load.

Solid green = fully charged
Blinking green = charging but Neato can be used
Blinking orange = charging and Neato can't be used
Solid orange = error light & check Neato's LCD for error message.

A day before Neato arrived, I vacuum my unit using conventional Philips bagless. vacuum. I did this intentionally just to see how much dirt can Neato picks up even after I've vacuum the apartment.

To my surprised, Neato picked up a lot of dirt! Here's a photo that shows the amount of dirt Neato pickup after cleaning my apartment.

The first run took about 45 mins to vacuum my unit which consists of 2 bedroom and living room. Total area is about 800sf hard floor. I reckon the second run will be faster because Neato would have learnt the layout of the unit.

The noise is on the high side and just slightly less noisy than conventional vacuum.

CLEANING:
Neato's dirt bin is located on top of the unit. So, removing it is very easy. It is very easy to clear the bin too. Just tip the bin and let the dirt out. The filter is washable with tap water.

Please feel free to ask question.

Cheers

Wow, great effort on this review!
That's a lot of junk shown in ur photo even after u've manual vacuumed.

Does Neato store floor layout in memory even after job complete, or fresh mapping each time?

Did ur Neato return to charge cos job done, or battery flat? Cos I know it'll resume where it left off if can't complete one shot.
If job done for 800 sq ft in 45 mins, that's quite fast.
