Hi, uno_bliss

Can ask you about the Roomba which version of firmware can support Scooba virtual wall? Or just all models can support just I unknown it.

Cause yesterday I tried my roomba can detect the Scooba virtual wall when it is switch on.
So far I still do not know the Scooba virtual wall how is the work, switch on for few hours it is automatic power off.

If like auto virtual wall when turn on just leave there only,
For lighthouse when you roomba is working for the led light will be auto detected and turn on.

I just do not the virtual wall of 400 series or Scooba.

Thanks

Accidentally found this website : iclebo.com.sg. You might wanna to compare with the rest. Looks like the Korean company I met in CES is telling the true, there is someone distributing iClebo here soon.

U want to know more, just click on each of my item & read description. http://shop.ebay.com.sg/uno_bliss/m.html?_nkw=wall
Only Auto Virtual Wall stay on all the time, the rest will auto-off after 100 mins. Lighthouse off when Roomba stops.

"Generates map for your home by continuously taking photos of the ceiling and walls while it cleans"... Sounds familiar?

Features
- Vision based Mapping system
- Gyro Sensor & Encoder to Calculate
- Auto Driving by self-mapping
- Preset & Auto Charging
- Various detection sensors
- Lithium-ion battery (Running time 70 mins)
- Microfiber mop (mopping using moist micro fibre paper)
- Ergonomics
- Effective main brush (bristle brush only, without height & resistance self-adjusting cleaning head)
- Speed 30 cm/sec

Front wheel swivelling or fixed in 1 axis? I can't tell.

Not very smart to look @ ceilings and walls for positioning... :s22:

As a general rule, any virtual that has a power on/off switch can be use for any roomba or scooba regardless of firmware version. Once switch on, the device will power down after 2 hrs or manually by you.

The earlier version of iClebo is a total disappointment just like any other MIC vacuum. This one looks like having a smarter navigation but it just uses the same technology like samsung which seems to get lost.

Front wheel looks like non-swivel type to me and is an exact design like the cleanmate.

Since the topic is getting technical, got a noobie question to ask.

Why are the Roomba and Scooba VW not compatible with each other? Is it purely a commercial decision by iRobot or has it got to do with 'technology'?

My V-Bot RV-10 fixed wheel scratched my parquet by drawing circles, so did the central vacuum skirt & rear microfiber paper holder.
I didn't realise until much later, the damage was done. So it's modding time...

After all my tedious mod, the battery died soon & I shelved it.:s27:I've noticed current revision of V-Bot RV comes with swivel front wheel.

For all the adventurous forumer who wanna buy robotic vacuum of lesser known brands, pls check front wheel design whether fixed in one axis or swivelling.

Bakasa, u're not noobie, stop playing innocent...

Incompatibility has to do with technology, and it's Frequency Modulation.
Frequency Modulated infrared beams, like Morse Code, allows for reduced "broadcast" time.

a) Roomba 400 v-walls "broadcast" all the time, drains battery faster, so requires D-size battery
b) Roomba 500 v-walls "broadcast" intermittently, drains battery slower, so can use C-size battery
c) Auto V-walls "broadcast" the least frequently, so alkaline battery can last 6 mths with 24/7 usage

Frequency of (a) encompasses (b) & (c), so (a) works on everything. Scooba v-walls is basically (a) with different colour theme.

Your V-bot front wheel modify to be swivel, but can be easily get hairs to stuck at the wheel to steel clip. Even roomba also the same.
But Roomba will be more fixable can take out the plastic wheel and clean.

Good news! Now irobot 700 series can buy in officially website.
Quite interesting, but quite a lots costly. For all accessories and parts looks like the same with 500 series, except that HEPA filters.

Hi guys, my scooba water tank is leaking water through the valve opening when I filled it up, I can see a piece of black plastic and a blue plastic floating in the water tank.. seems like psrts are from the internal. Anybody can advise me what to do? I have attached a picture showing where the water is leaking from. Thanks

Hi,

My finally Mod Vacuum Bin to be the same perform over than AeroVac Bin.

1. Improved larger compartment of upper and lower bin.
2. Paste Mask filter.
3. Do not need standard filter anymore.
4. Can be store more than 70 percent of original bin.

see my photos below

Great work! I also wanted to suggest get rid of the row of teeth on the mod bin, since the suction will take care of bristle brush.

I recently ran Roomba at customer's place with 2 big dogs that shed long fur, the row of teeth jammed with fur after 10 mins of use. Bottom squeegy entrance also jammed with long fur.
I believe things will improve since all the fur on the floor was probably from many days.

After the above incident, I realised that Aerovac bin has it's merits without the row of teeth. Long fur will go straight into bin & won't get stuck halfway.

Kimsim, I can say ur mod bin is 90% like existing Aerovac bin. And great idea to paste sponge at bottom squeegy.
The 10% that isn't like Aerovac bin, is the fact that when rubbish is 1-2 cm high, the filter is completely blocked, and suction will drop a lot. But with regular emptying of bin, that will be avoided.

Indeed very close to the AeroVac design but hope the angle of the original bin's motor is not tilted to the brushes. Hope this will not affect too much of the performance.

for the performance i think is does not affect much.
cause i has test it few times.
it is really works great than standard vacuum bin.

For bottom squeegy i paste it sponge to become more strong suction from main opening, does not affect from bottom suction fine dust again.

ya, i has tried it few type of modify bin, at the end it is still works great, cause i not need too worry after done for cleaning,
previously i looks at the CHM brushes always get stuck many long hairs & dust stick at everywhere of CHM.
now i am using my Modify Bin, for the problem is getting less issue of dust and long hairs to stuck at bristle brush, so far just 1 or 2 long hairs will be stuck over the brush.

My it modify Bin can be collecting more than 90% of dust, hairs, debris.
so do not need empty it quite regular after a day completed clean,
i have to take a looks at the bin for filter side to empty it quite often.

the other thing to improvement is using the mask filter can be more strong and fine like HEPA filter, so i do not have emptying it very often and replaced the new standard filter by often.
it is not need using the filter frame, just using tape to paste it at vacuum suction motor opening area.

Now i have own it 2 set of modify bin. :)

Like I said in previous post, ur latest mod bin should function just like Aerovac bin, more or less same suction power. Emptying is also 1 step.

The following comments are purely from scientific point of view:
- The actual Aerovac bin maybe has 5% more suction due to slight forward angle. But once equilibrium is reached, ur mod bin & Aerovac bin will have same suction. See diagram: http://cnx.org/content/m14046/latest/aflm12.gif
- Your mod bin has some wind turbulence due to all the sharp corners, which might reduce suction by a bit. See diagram: http://www.kyotoinhome.info/UK/images/wind/figura2.gif
- I can also predict u will get a small 20 cent coin size concentration of dust on ur mask filter. Reason is ur filter is too near to the vacuum impeller. See diagram: http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/uno_bliss/Vacuumflow.gif

Despite all the above analysis, urs is still a great mod to overcome all the weakness of normal vacuum bin. I'll try out ur mod.:s8:
