Is amd sync/g sync important??

Hi,

im gonna buy ultrawide monitor. got gsync and non gsync one but the gsync more expensive. is g sync reall important??? i am going to do more productive work on this monitor rather than gaming but i do play games often

If you don't know what is screen tearing and/but you're not disturbed by it, save money and don't get gsync.

If gaming experience is utmost important and your gpu is a powerful one that can support high fps gaming, also your wallet can handle the budget, get gsync.

Depends on your eyes. Can u actually see the tangible improvements playing at 144Hz compared to playing at 60Hz?

Go test out some demo 144Hz displays at Sim Lim or the electronics stores. If u really can prove to yourself that u get to benefit from playing at 144Hz, then pay more for 144Hz monitor. Otherwise, 60Hz monitor is more than enough for productivity and non-competitve gaming.

I'm currently using 144Hz with G-Sync.

Some improvement over my previous 60Hz monitor without G-Sync but not that big a deal.

If you are going for a premium monitor ($1K range), by all means pay the extra for G-Sync otherwise save the money.

i'm using a 100hz native panel and dont see a single tearing over 2 months of usage. i think if the GPU is powerful enough shouldnt be an issue.

i dont think i will be gaming competitively. just casual gaming, like playing single FPS, RPG games. multiplayer i do play FPS but not as always and i dont think i am bothered by the tearing or delays that everyone mentioned here.

i'm using gtx 1070...for 4k ultrawide 34 inch monitor i dont think its powerful enough for smooth frames per sec but then i dont have money buy gtx 1080 also

Its all up to individual.
If can afford, why not.

If got expensive eyes, a bit tear also cannot tahan, then is a must for gsync/fsync.

If got cheap eyes, every thing also no diff, don't bother to upgrade.
Total, complete waste of time, money & energy.
