This is really quite a subjective thing. there are so many streaming services out there, you have to choose which 1 carries the original content that you like more.

Actually if you subscribe Apple One. More worth it. Can share among various members. The Apple TV movie currently limited. In terms of content, it is Netflix followed by Disney+ followed by Apple Tv

It’s probably not aim at competing against those services but getting more ppl into the Apple ecosystem.

So far, I've only watched Greyhound on Apple TV. Most of the shows somehow don't appeal to me. And yes, Apple keeps extending the free Apple TV subscription, which means the pickup rate is likely very bad. In terms of number of shows, I feel this is the order: Netflix -->Disney+-->Amazon TV--> Apple TV, assuming no VPN used.

While that is true, but when you have hardly any shows in your catalogue, you can't attract people to use your service in the first place which will not help to increase number of subscribers into Apple's ecosystem.

That's why keep giving free lol.

But Apple have the cash to pump into shows la, just that their need for control I don't think will work extremely well in dramas and movies. They seem to prefer working with more famous, tried and true people in "politically safe" directions.

End of the day, IMO more options is also good also, if not Netflix become $50 a month also die.

The only ones that I finished watching is Servant 2 seasons and Ted Lasso, both are "decent" but nothing fantastic for me.

don't think appletv+ is the main driver of Apple's business. it is more like creating a service, so that they can offer it as a package and continue to sell devices.

I feel apple have not found a way to unlock the Apple TV subscription. If you’re looking at paid Apple TV movies, they have almost the whole catalog. If they were to open up the whole library to maybe $29.90 a month, quite likely they will kill Netflix and Disney. Also Apple TV is not sold in China hence they got little motivation to get it working. Not sure what is their strategy

I don't think their plan is to dominate in this space, but rather just create a service that they can add to their apple one sub. so that ppl get appletv+ as a benefit be it good or bad.

They’ve got pretty good TV series and just to share the ones I like: Ted Lasso, Defending Jacob, The Morning Show.
