For the average person, it's not worth it. If the peace of mind is worth it, then go for it.

Didn't get it for my macbook pro 2015. For me, I believe that if no issue happens to the macbook pro during the first year, it's unlikely something will happen for the next two year. However, if there is some issue that occurred during the first year, better to buy for the next two years.

My opinion is Apple care is definitely necessary.. Cos it's like an insurance, if no have means you're in hot soup should the machine spoil after 1 year..
