Honestly you should focus on what you intend to do to better your situation, seeing property for "fun" as you put it just creates temptation to commit, then you start asking (as per earlier post) if you should over commit to upgrade your lifestyle.

If I were viewing for fun I probably wouldn't even bother posting it in the forum, I get sense that deep down some part of you is tempted.

Better stick to your game plan, you say you wanna invest in stocks and wanna learn more go attend some sgx courses which is a better use of your time.

I did my analysis - trying to upgrade to semi-D from terrace a few years ago. The extra cash for the upgrade can be used to purchase another investment property for passive income instead of having an extra 1500 sqft of land at the side of the house for gardening and koi pond...

do you know the 1% commission for private and 2% commission for HDB is set in stone? I mean is it under sg law ?

3 yrs ago I bought hdb, no buyer fee as I used PropertyGuru and 99.co to approach seller
Seller paid 0.5% fee to his seller agent.

So I guess not set in stone.

We just saw a pretty nice semid freehold with good outdoor and indoor space. Can build a swimming pool. Only pity is east west facing and a little leakage issue to be fixed. Made an offer for it but quite below the asking price. If can get, no need to sell our condo.

Wow! Good luck sis! Which area is this?
