DBS unscheduled downtime for this year got more than 4 hours ?

DBS and POSB customers had difficulties accessing the bank’s mobile apps on Monday (Jun 2) afternoon.

More than 1,000 reports were made on outage tracking site Downdetector since around 2 pm, mostly for mobile login and mobile banking issues.

Digibank app customers were either unable to log in to their accounts, according to online forums and comments on DBS’ Facebook page.

In November 2023, the Monetary Authority of Singapore imposed a six-month pause on non-essential activities on DBS, after it had repeated disruptions to its digital banking services.

The Business Times has reached out to DBS for comments.

I think i heard somewhere that it is infra problem not originating from DBS
BUT the swing over like slow huh

My friend lost S$1K ++, some weird transaction at $1.60 per transaction from 26May. Just notice today.

Debit Card number likely kena leaked.

They need to change the login CPF golden key to another design....the key cannot rotating too fast maybe 🙏 🙏

星展银行和储蓄银行的数码服务星期一(6月2日)下午故障。星展银行发文对受影响客户造成的不便致歉。

星展银行和储蓄银行的部分用户在星期一下午2时许,陆续发现无法登录网上银行账户和手机应用。

根据网络状况监测站Downdetector的数据,一些用户从下午2时零2分开始在网站上反映使用出现问题,并在下午3时30分左右达到顶峰。其中,星展银行共收到1102份报告,储蓄银行则收到604份。

DBS users report slowness, disuptions on digibank app​

DBS customers have reported slowness and disruptions on the DBS digibank app.

More than 1,000 reports have been made on Downdetector since 2pm on Jun. 2, with reports peaking at 1,112 at around 3:32pm.

A Mothership reader said that when they tried to login at around 2:30pm, they were unable to do so.

A notification on the app said that it was experiencing "momentary difficulties".

In an update on Facebook posted at 3:01pm, DBS apologised for the inconvenience and said it was working to fully recover services on the digibank app.

"Some customers are experiencing slowness logging into DBS digibank Mobile," it wrote.

DBS's other digital banking services, including digibank Online and PayLah!, remain functional.

DBS/POSB ATMs and credit and debit cards can also still be used.



In March 2023, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced that it would take action against DBS for "unacceptable" online banking disruptions.

After another outage on Oct. 14, 2023, MAS ordered a "thorough investigation" and said it would take supervisory actions against the bank.

DBS was subsequently barred in November 2023 from non-essential IT changes and business acquisitions for six months.

Then-CEO Piyush Gupta apologised and said the bank would set aside a special budget of S$80 million to enhance system resiliency.

Recover liao, let’s move on…. Piyush really made it the best bank in the world ! No other bank with such high mobile user base can recover so quickly !

You should never be without cash.

Not jacking you. Really. Our infra ''track record'' would have failed even the most basic private sector pre project checklist.

I know alot of places have cashfree payment and most of the time it's working. But the tenacity is not to the point where SG can solely depend on it with assurance yet. Best to always have some cash on you at all time, just as an insurance. At the rate of our current progression, we will not truly be cashfree until the next decade, at the very least.
