Is grab safe in phuket ?

Heard many ppl say driver might cancel the trip but some ppl still gong gong take the ride..

Also heard ppl kana rob by driver using gun..

i wont take grab in phuket in the first place ...
no matter how close the distance, the starting price is always 250+b at least ...
tried and tested ... for a 10min journey cost us 260b ...
we in the end walked 12min from hotel to junceylon mall

for starters taxis are not cheap in Phuket... I use grab for the convenient of not being carrot by the drivers... so far no problem encountered with their grab taxi drivers there...

normally jetstar promo, their prices usually 70+

krabi usually more expensive, but still can find below 100 at times ...

walk in groups if u can, avoid going to small dark alley at night ...
keep your valuables safely, dont bring expensive watch on hand, etc

thanks to ah tiong ... now criminals thinks all chinese are rich! to be safe, better don't go lah. am not short of places in to go in thailand anyways

Yeah. just be careful when going to places for tourist attraction to avoid pickpockets.

Nothing to be scared off. Just don't wear expensive things and go in groups. its best if you know people there or have thai friends.

Yup, book your own driver for airport transfer and day tour ...

Phuket Grabs are sometimes even more exp than in Sg. Maybe try hiring a driver for a fixed daily rate instead.

went phuket in june and rented a car (honda jazz 1.5) to drive around, rental cost is around $125 for 4 days. considering we were staying in mai khao and wanting to explore phuket town, car rental is cheaper than getting grab or taxi (airport to resort 700bht one way, maikhao to phuket town cost around 1300bht).

Yup things are expensive there ...
much higher than bangkok ...
fast food , restaurants ...

however, their hotel prices can be quite cheap
3* hotel about $20+ per nite for two ...
that is the good part about phuket, if u travelling during their low season ...
