Is having a front intake fan pointless ?

If work PC sit in A/C room throughout it's lifetime, of course will last much longer than if it were to be placed in my living room where my Phantom 410 easily collects a layer of dust after 1 month

Not thru out it's lifetime. Air con only on during day. Night time off, weekend off.

Sometime i open up the server PC i also wear protection. The amount of dust is :)

But they still work like a horse.

Haha sorry all. Yaya.

For pc.. i think mythmaker did a test before, in a enclosed box, front intake off, back exhaust on and the front intake fan turns.

But most still go for the safer one in, one out concept i think. End of the day i feel it's trial and error, try to play ard with diff setups and see which one gives u better result.

there is a lot of disscuss everywhere on lot of forums abt how a fan shld mount over e heatsink, if u pull the hot air out from the heatsink, it sudden get vacuum and will b hot, so u need cold air in to replace, if u push cold air into e heatsink, e hot air on e heat sink will disperse around it surrounding and tis need to suck out.
overall must see how the configuration of e whole system to determine e best flow.

e conventional old pc dat come wif 1 fan is back exhaust is bcos traditionally pocessor fan r blow toward e heatsink. it cool e processor better but will spread e heat around e mobo and other area, e back fan suck out e hot air.
Some ppl may wonder y they added more fan but they getting hotter bcos it not only number of fans but oso direction.
Give u an example, if u configure all fan 2b intake, thou outside air is cooler, but wat u r doing is to force more cool air to beat e hot air inside, wun it be more effective if u can let go some hot air while bin in some cool air.
nowsday more card or components come wif heatsink fan, it is important to noe which part nid to bin in cool air, which part nid to suck out hot air, and this is call air flow.
it dun take an expert to know how to configure case fan, it just nid info(fan direction) and thinking, bcos it all abt physic.

cable management and casing size oso play a part, and small casing wif poor ventilation support is not really gd to configure high power gaming.

not physic den little abt electronics , i find lot ppl here talk abt psu but dun reall have a clear concept of psu.
DC power supply r for electronics system, ac r for electrical system, some stepdown ac to supply for ac parts.
sometimes i work on psu, theory wise i oso bit rusty.
