Hi MBA users,

I am a first time mac user. For me I am worried that without keyboard protection, it may form "shadows" of the keyboard on the screen because it's closed?

If not, i am prepared to have keyboard naked too! :D

Appreciate anyone's input. Thanks

It should be the other way round. You put the keyboard protector on and close the lid, it will leave stain marks on your screen.

It will leave a mark on your screen.. personally I don't use it even though i have a cat at home... the fur doesn't really get stuck much. I use the lint roller to clean it every other day..

Heh. Using a keyboard protector bought from Qoo10 now. Personally, not too bad IMO. MBA lid able to close. MBA's lid unable to close properly with previous keyboard protector though.

I have not use any casing or keyboard protectors for all my macs, typing on the keyboard protector is so uncomfortable.

As long as you are careful in handling your macs, it is hard to even scratch the aluminium body and also no open top cups near your mac will be safe from spills on keyboard. :)

For what's it worth, here's a picture of a small nick on my rMBP. Even then it took the force of a swinging cast iron rack door to create that.

well ... i find typing without the kbp is much much better but i still keep my kbp on. It is still within my threshold. until i cannot tahan that sticky feel, i will dump it away.

my house is using the wireless kb without kbp ... much nicer and faster to type.

with the kbp, typing is tiring as you might need to press slightly harder.

Will leave mark on your screen & typing may be hindered if the cover is lousy type.

But it keeps things cleaner. If u see how yucky it gets after several months u will be grateful for the cover. Besides the dirt & grim it also keeps a lot of dust out.

I've KBP on my apple wireless keyboard because I find that the white keys dirty really easily. KBP on the MBA keyboard too, I kinda prefer typing with the KBP on, like the feel man. Different strokes for different folks. Cheers. :o
