Which Apple adapter are you using? Out of the box one or one of those Macbook/ipad charger?

Both Ipad charger and Iphone charge. Mix and match between original iphone and ipad adapter with iphone lighting cable and 3rd party lightning cable. Same result lor for all original ones, where else 3rd party one no feel.

I am using ipad charger, Innergie charger with original and verbatim steel braided cable can feel the current, but Apple cable is good cables are good.

But use 3rd cheaper charger (usd20+) got it in 2013, with the verbatim steel braided cable can feel the current, but Apple cable is good.

For my case I believe it was due to charger issue

The USB chargers are not electrically grounded. That's why you feel the leakage.
