if yes....
how long is acceptable?

1 month? 3 months? a whole year? 😬

you confident you come back will have a job waiting or you can find another job or not? :)

Finding yourself is over-rated. Finding money when young 才是王道。
you can find yourself later on like 40-50yrs old when you are retrenched :)

Not feasible. I ever find myself jobless twice and each time, it took me about 5-6 months to get employment an d i would need to take a small pay cut compared to last drawn pay.

Dunno what's there to find yourself about. Most people only know how to travel the world to "broaden" their perspective lol. Machiam travelling is the only important in everyone's entire life. But real self-improvement is a different story.

How old are you now? Plan to just do any job when you run out of money or still hoping to continue where you left?
Old enough to be not so employable in this current job market without recommendation. Just going to do some ad hoc projects whenever my past acquaintances need some of my niche expertise.

Already had an offer but the offer was to replace the job of another acquaintance of mine, so I am not so keen. He needs the job more than me.

one time I was backpacking in indo
met this JP guy who had travelled the world for past 5 years..
Long hair hippy with moustache. Indo was his last stop before he is finally going back JP.

The group of people we were with-past 2 weeks all travelled together.
The westerners were all jolly and happy for his adventures, toasting and partying-
we were the only 2 asians.
This last night before his flight, he was so stressed and drinking heavily. Because he knew the GIANT GAPING HOLE in his CV is death sentence in asian work culture

I told him to take it one step at a time
he barely spoke english but we understood each other on this

'why, whats wrong with him?'
'..nothing. Here. Drink! '

Depends on your own circumstances e.g. financial, career progression, goals, etc. No right or wrong. Often taking a break lets you properly recharge for the next leg of the marathon.
