$435 is insane price for a flagship cpu competitive with x3d.

amd $400+ has been giving us their 6 cores class cpu, i checked my receipts since 5600g for last 5 years

This is not even considering the fact that people are sacrificing 8L PCB, 105A+ DrMOS, typical 4-7M.2, full 320MHz WiFi7 connectivity to get a X3D running because it is expensive. The motherboard quality is heavily overlooked.

And that buying bundles overseas you'd be getting bundle discounts US$100 or higher with Z890

am4 cpus have been dirt cheap for the longest time, i havent paid more than $250 over the past 3-4 years for any of those including 8core x3d like the 57x3d. even for am5, u can easily find 78x3d for $350 nowadays which is cheaper, draws significantly less power and still faster for gaming than the 270k+. that said, the 270k+ productivity performance is undeniably flagship for a killer price, which is quite funny since that was how ryzen started out

According to techpowerup, 270K+ is faster than 7800X3D in some game titles. 270K+ should have been the 265K all along. That said, Arrow lake is dead and on a EOL platform but it gave current 800 platform users a new last-minute update to their system.

Not sure if this will come to fruition, but it is a very good idea by Intel if they choose to breathe life into the older platforms. There may not be a flagship CPU for this but even if it is as close to the 270K+, I think it is a winner.

Well, they see AMD AM4 still alive and kicking and still selling, bringing back 1700 raptor lake might be a good idea. Raptor lake is still quite fast compare to AM4.

My 270K was terrible, currently doing RMA with Intel since it crashes with Arrow Lake 200S profile.

In the new RMA system approval is faster than it is used to if you say the right things (i.e. no OC, tested different CPU, latest BIOS, no RAM OC), despite cutting of manpower and using Copilot to reduce manpower needs.

From ticket creation to receiving your replacement.

It is fortunate that the cost cutting did not result in support loops.

I haven't seen the curve, but at default settings VID of 5400MHz was 1.211V I think.

Haven't overclocked IA Cores for a long time ago since moving from a ITX custom loop 5.3GHz 8700K to Dan A4 SFX

Only did Adaptive Voltage, all C-States Enabled, Per Core Frequency Scaling (than synced all cores), locked PL1-4 for thermal headroom + RAM OC

So far running 96GB on 6400MHz with timings tuned (Veii high-temp scaling profile), maybe I can move it to 7200MHz in the future.
(96G that's able to do 8000 C44/7400C34 (RPL) on fairly low volts went to another system).

7z archival performance is decent, PL1 105W

Edit: 7200MT/s now
